12/13/2023 0 Comments Biggest head lice ever foundIt's possible that your child just picked up head lice recently or it's possible that they only have one male lice bug that wasn't capable of laying eggs. Now if you only found one single lice bug, and you're sure you're not finding any nits (lice eggs), then you don't necessarily need to treat. Instead, I'd recommend that you learn how to get rid of lice the right way, by checking out my step-by-step video system. Lice have grown immune to those treatments, so if you go that route you're likely to struggle with lice for a very long time (like weeks or months). Long gone are the days where you could just buy a lice kit at the store and get rid of lice. Now when it comes to treatments my #1 piece of advice is that you learn how to get rid of lice the right way. Most likely, the reason you're not seeing loads of nits is that you caught the infestation early on, which is a good thing. If you find multiple lice bugs there are nits, trust me they are there. If you found multiple lice bugs then you have full-blown head lice, even if you're not seeing nits (lice eggs). You'll find that in different countries "nits" are "defined" as different things, but they're all talking about lice eggs, just in different stages). So, it's normal to find nits ranging in color from yellowish to dark brown.Īfter the lice baby hatches out of the egg all you're left with is just a shell. When the eggs are first laid they are yellowish, but as the "lice baby" in the egg gets closer to hatching the egg gets darker and darker. Nits (remember, the same as lice eggs) can be a variety of colors depending on the stage they are in. Lice are unique in that they glue their eggs directly to the hair so they cannot fall out. Lice lay eggs in your hair and their "lice babies" grow inside of these eggs until they are mature enough to hatch. Head lice, like all other animals, have babies. ROXs-42Bb has an estimated mass of 9 Jupiters and a radius of around 2.5 Jupiters, making it the largest planet ever found as of yet. What are nits? There are some that like to make things complicated when it comes to lice, whereas I like to keep things simple. That is, through the gravitational collapse of gas and dust that directly led to the planet’s formation. Rather, ROXs-42Bb likely formed in a way similar to how a star forms. However, ROXs-42Bb is too far from its star to have formed from accretion, and it may also be too large to form this way. After a few million years, the once small rocky core becomes a gas giant. In our solar system, the gas giants are believed to have formed from a process called accretion, wherein the formation of solid cores gradually draws in more material, increasing the force of gravity which then draws in even more material. Interestingly, the vast distance between ROXs-42Bb and its host star suggests that it did not form in a conventional way. Compared to the distance between the Earth and sun, ROXs-42Bb orbits its star 157 times further than the Earth orbits the sun. ROXs-42Bb orbits its parent star at an extremely vast distance, and it takes the planet nearly 2,000 years to complete one orbit around its star. ROXs-42Bb orbits a red dwarf star in the constellation Ophiuchus at a distance of 440 light years away. As of yet, ROXs-42Bb is the only one that can be confidently defined as a true planet and not a brown dwarf.Ĭharacteristics of ROXs-42Bb The Keck Telescope took this direct image of the ROXs-42 system, showing the gas giant ROXs-42Bb to the right of the star In the case of ROXs-42Bb, it is the largest exoplanet whose mass is too small to be a brown dwarf, and although there are larger objects out there around other stars, it remains unknown whether they are planets or brown dwarfs. Some of the largest objects ever discovered around other stars may actually be brown dwarfs rather than planets, and so there is no clear answer as to what exoplanet is truly the largest. That’s because their high mass compresses the hydrogen and helium in their atmospheres, causing them to shrink under their own gravity. The smallest brown dwarfs usually have masses around 13 times larger than Jupiter, yet oddly enough, they can actually be smaller than Jupiter. Brown dwarfs are the state between planet and star, as they are not small enough to be a planet, but not quite large enough to be a star. Rather, some of the most massive known exoplanets may be what are called brown dwarfs, which represent objects that are neither star nor planet. It is not as simple as knowing their size and mass since some gas giants may not actually be planets at all. Brown Dwarf or Planet? Comparison of the different masses between planets, brown dwarfs, and stars.ĭetermining which exoplanet is the largest one discovered is more difficult than it may seem.
